Empowering SMEs through Digital Transformation – The DigiGo.lk Journey

The LK Domain Registry is dedicated to supporting Sri Lankan small and medium enterprises (SMEs) through its DigiGo.lk initiative, helping them harness the power of digital tools and strategies to grow in a rapidly evolving marketplace. By working hands-on with local businesses, the program aims to address real-world challenges with simple, effective digital solutions. One such success story comes from Sujith Nugegoda of Panaluwa Estate, who shared his transformative experience working with the DigiGo.lk team.

At DigiGo.lk, we are here to empower SMEs with the right knowledge and tools to grow in the digital era. Here’s what Sujith Nugegoda from Panaluwa Estate shared about his journey with us.
"The DigiGo.lk program added a whole new dimension to productivity enhancement in our organization. DigiGo.lk team and I explored simple, yet impactful digital solutions to real business problems. Every successful implementation was a validation of the transformative power of digital technology. The key takeaway from my 45 day engagement with the DigiGo.lk program was the immense value of incorporating the 'Thinking Digital' paradigm in our decision making process.
The Solution:
The market volatility in the aftermath of the economic crisis necessitated regular revision of the selling price of products. Responding to frequent price inquiries from customers had become a tedious exercise. Creating individual customer price lists as Google Sheets linked to a master price list (also a Google Sheet) enabled us to offer our customers a real time pricing solution by merely sharing a link.
Panaluwa Industrialists:
Regards to the Panaluwa (partial) success story, with below par engagement by the industrialists - it was more about understanding the psyche of the SME industrialist rather than building solutions. This behavioural pattern, possibility a coping mechanism or a response to systemic failure in the institutional framework (supposedly) supporting industries, has for ever so long been the elephant in the room. Hopefully, the insights gained will be useful in achieving the desired outcomes.
It was a pleasure working with the DigiGo.lk team, and I look forward to collaborating on future projects."
